Artistic statement

If everything is in perpetual motion, on what can we lean on ?

Onirism – The work of Léa Stuby is built particularly on the world of dreams and sleep, which is an infinite deep universe she will get highly inspired from; universe as important as her everyday reality. Indeed, with the capacity of lucid dreaming and sleeping paralysis, she is also living a parallel existence that is definitely extended to her artistic work.

Tree thoughts – Because of a constant overflow of information, Léa Stuby will try to externalize out all her feelings, emotions and frustrations so as to sort out what she can keep and what she needs to sense inner peace. With a strong will to find one day her place in this world, she is going to observe cheerfully her environment and bring an entrance to other possible universes, by telling stories through her work. Also, she is sharing what is going on in her mind as a translation of her thoughts, in order to connect herself to the others, to question her social relations and the relation with herself. Very involved in the mental health topic, the artist is inspired by her own experiences, to be then shared with the public in order to raise awareness of listening, of the psychic suffering implied, and moreover, to its stigmatization.

Childhood – In addition to that, Léa Stuby is also deeply concerned by the thematic of childhood, linked to the memory and time. With her Norwegian roots, she explores her origins, culture and traditions through childhood memories – memories which can haunt us at some time of our existence. The Nordic culture is then bringing her great inspiration and a source of peacefulness.

Therefore, Léa Stuby is creating through her personal life and through her environment to help her take distance from all those realities she is living in – or has to deal with.
